Wahl’s belief is that real guys perform best when they look their best – and on the field and on the court, that means sporting some facial hair. This multi-year engagement has exponentially increased Wahl’s mindshare in the sports media market via a light-hearted approach to connecting with sports fan in the US, and earned a PR Daily Media Relations Award in the process. Initially the campaign was executed surrounding Major League Baseball, extending to also activate include the NFL and NBA.
The campaign earned two honors from Ragan’s PR Daily — winner of Best Use of Social Media for Public/Media Relations and Best Media Relations Stunt. Coverage in prime publications including ESQUIRE, MEN’S FITNESS, USA TODAY and YAHOO SPORTS contributed to earning over 190 million editorial impressions, 3 million social impressions for a total social reach of 17.7 million. The American Mustache Institute even shared the infographics with its community.
